THE SOUL OF NATURE
Nature, in wild and pastoral, exudes radiance and vitality,
In life and death, and death and life,
forever and over and over again speaks to anyone who would listen
and pay attention,
to learn and imitate the divine within.
A heaven’s mid-August sound and light show ensues in the land of Malaysia,
all of a sudden, I am the smallest kid in the entire world,
looking up and wide in utter awe and wonder
lightening, a showier spouse of shy thunder, showcasing its unmatched brilliance,
painting the vast sky as if the sky is the size of a small boy’s notebook,
thunder growls boisterously as if the sky is a tiny recording room,
showering the offspring of rain, one direction, from heaven to earth,
an adamant reminder of where we come from.
Great heron defies and defines elegance beyond words,
to grace the earth so effortlessly and perched on top of the trees to look far and wide,
that grace is generosity
hummingbirds’ ultra busyness while being angel light,
proving busyness is not the problem but heaviness and seriousness are,
butterfly embodies transformation and transcendence,
that beauty is formed in darkness and solitude,
stream sings of its eternal quality of spring while demonstrating humility,
that eternity and humility are inseparable,
trees as majestic and mystical mass stand grounded and rooted for many ages,
teaching sustenance of majesty comes from being grounded and rooted and connected
My soul yearns for connection and searches for courage, simply to be.
What is more real? What I think of myself? Or what others think of me? Perhaps neither. Perhaps both. Perhaps “think” is the wrong word.
How does God communicate what is real me?
The soul of nature reflects its beauty and wildness, undistorted and unfiltered,
declaring to anyone who would listen and pay attention
that we too are to reflect the divine within back to the Divine and to the world.
